Going all in for Jesus was something I always heard Christians say, but it’s a statement I never really understood. I heard it, but it never made its way to my heart. The eighteen inch drop from head to heart is the most important and difficult drop in your life. It’s something that has been taking place in me here in Lynden, Washington during my Discipleship Training School (DTS).
God has used DTS to transfer so much head knowledge into heart knowledge. The most transformational head to heart drop God has been doing in me has been my worldview. A Biblical Worldview is based off of the living word of God, the Bible. When we hunger and thirst for truth and freedom found in the Bible, we are able to have a deeply rooted faith cultivated in rich, fine soil. I have been praying for the Lord to give me a hunger for wanting to read the Bible more, because the Bible is a library of writings that tells a unified story. This story is both divine and human; It leads us to Jesus, and offers a transforming view of the world. I have found myself wanting to go deeper in God’s word not to only gain more knowledge but to seek truth and treasure the history and significance of the covenant that God so desperately wants with mankind.
If I would have written an essay on what my Biblical Worldview was before coming to DTS, it would have been a very foggy lens in which I was viewing God and the world.
If I would have written an essay on what my Biblical Worldview was before coming to DTS, it would have been a very foggy lens in which I was viewing God and the world. God has been re-cultivating my Worldview through my DTS in ways that I could have never imagined.
I have grown a bigger heart for people and I feel like I am able to see them through God’s eyes, rather than sending judgement and being very prideful towards them. Through our time at local outreach, God has been humbling my heart and teaching me to have more compassion for others. God has also given me a deeper desire to pray for the unreached and maybe even do something about reaching the unreached in the near future. I have been able to see the deeper need for followers of Jesus to be sent as influencers to people who have no idea that they can be living a much more fulfilling life with Jesus, and to teach them how to view the world through the lens of the Bible.
God has been convicting me to become an influencer and share my Biblical Worldview with others, rather than just keeping it to myself.
With that being said, God has been convicting me to become an influencer and share my Biblical Worldview with others, rather than just keeping it to myself. I have been challenged to dig up my soil and allow God to show me how I can have a healthier and more effective soil in order to see fruit. I can now say that I am willing to do whatever and go wherever in order to further the Kingdom and I have the desire to live for so much more. I know that God has been preparing me for full-time ministry by challenging me to raise a banner and pave the way even though I have no clue what that looks like after DTS. I just know that we are called to do whatever it takes for the sake of the kingdom because the Kingdom of God is at hand! (Isaiah 62:10-11).
