When Does The Next DTS Start?

We run two Discipleship Training Schools a year! One starting in September and one starting in January.

Find more information and apply for DTS.

Is It Too Late To Apply?

It’s not too late unless the school has started! Check out our arrival dates and details. We recommend applying as soon as possible since there is some paperwork to fill out that can take time. If the arrival day is coming up, we recommend applying at least a week before the arrival day. Give us a call, text, or email if you have any questions!

How Much Does DTS Cost?

The whole DTS program costs $8,500, which includes lecture and outreach.

What is included in the tuition?

Lecture: food and housing, course fees, transportation for program events, and elective activities.

Outreach: flights to and from outreach, food and housing, travel insurance, transportation, and ministry expenses.

Debrief: food and housing, debrief supplies, and graduation.

What is not included in the tuition?

Free time activities, travel to and from Lynden, Washington, and health insurance while in Lynden during lecture.

What Is The Weekly Schedule Like?

Each week will include in-class lectures, work duties, worship, prayer, and other program activities. You will also participate in worship and have meals with the whole campus. The weekends might include prescheduled activities, but most of them will be free. DTS is a full-time program that will keep you busy the whole week.

Where Will I Go On My DTS Outreach?

You will find out your outreach location and team while you’re here!

We are focused on serving South East Asia, and we recently sent teams to Indonesia and Cambodia.

What Do I Need To Pack?

CLOTHING

For your time in Lynden, pack your normal, casual clothes as well as a nicer set for church and formal events like graduation. Some of your activities could require you to get a little dirty, so we recommend you also pack a set of work clothes. The weather in Washington can change a lot. During the winter months (November – February), it can get as cold as 32° Fahrenheit (0° Celcius), but in the early Fall (August – October), it can stay as warm as 77° Fahrenheit (25° Celcius). The Pacific Northwest is also known for its rain, so bring a good raincoat!

Outreach locations often require more modest and formal clothes like skirts and dress pants. There are several thrift stores in the area, and we will help you plan for outreach outfits when you get here!

We ask that all participants limit the number of items they bring to fit in one suitcase or hiking backpack. You will have a limited amount of storage space, and you will be living in shared accommodations.

BEDDING

We provide a mattress for every participant, but you will need to bring your own bedding (sheets, pillow, blanket, comforter, etc.). All single beds are twins. For couples and international students, reach out to us for more information.

OTHER

You’ll need to bring your own towel and toiletries.

Your Bible, a journal, and a way to take notes are encouraged!
