At YWAM North Cascades, we provide personalized life coaching for every DTS student, not just during the program, but for three months after DTS as well. This support helps students develop a vision and plan for what’s next, and move into their next environment with focus and impact.

Introduction to Life Coaching for Discipleship Seminar
The LCD is a week-long seminar that introduces you to the power and impact of coaching for discipleship. Participants will learn to listen strategically, ask powerful questions, and provide a coaching framework that helps the other person solve their own problems, listen to the Holy Spirit, and take focused action for change.

Student Journey Guide Certification Course
DTS students can feel lost after graduation, but that doesn’t have to be the case. The Student Journey Guide Certification Course (LCG) gives you in-depth life coach training with consistent guided practice. You will discover how to help DTS students develop their vision, navigate transition, and thrive as impactful Jesus followers post DTS. You will be equipped to coach DTS students during and after DTS, helping them develop a plan for what’s next and ensuring they have the support they need when they return home. Whether it’s stepping into ministry, missions, or daily life, Student Journey Guides walk alongside students for three months post DTS as they pursue their God-given calling.
As a Student Journey Guide you will help students:
– Discover their strengths and gifts
– Identify their calling and/or direction
– Make an actionable post-DTS plan that supports their calling
– Integrate new learning in their next environment
– Increase their Kingdom impact in their next environment
Time Commitment
– Three-month Zoom course
- 2.5 hours of live weekly Zoom class
- 1.5 hours of peer coaching practice weekly
- 4-5 hours of independent study weekly
- 10 practicum hours coaching DTS students
Course Prerequisites:
– Successfully completed a DTS.
– Previously served as a one-on-one for students in a DTS or Secondary School for at least one quarter.
Cost: $450
*Students from economically developing nations qualify for a fee reduction based on their country of origin.

Life Coaching Certification Course
The Life Coaching Certification Course takes the coaching skills learned in the Student Journey Guide course and brings them to a professional level. This class, created around the 8 course competencies of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), completes the necessary coach-specific training hours needed to apply for ICF certification through the portfolio pathway. Through in-class practice, live feedback, and personalized support, you will be prepared to coach at a high level and understand what’s needed for ICF certification. You will receive the tools you need to coach YWAM students and staff, and be introduced to what it could look like to start coaching professionally as a business, or to use it as business for missions overseas.
Prerequisites:
Receive a passing grade in the Student Journey Guide Certification Course.

- 2.5 hours of live Zoom class weekly
- 1.5 hours of peer coaching practice weekly
- 3 hours of independent study weekly
- 10 practicum coaching hours logged
